Orangetree is
the much-anticipated new project from ex-MU330 vocalist Jason Nelson,
and in two short years this St Louis troop is being deemed the next
big ska-influenced act to come from the Midwest, hot on the heels
of Telegraph, Blue Meanies, Mustard Plug, and Suicide Machines.
A powerful modern ska-rock force playing shows all over, Orangetree
creates an unforgettable audio assault that takes the listener on
the ride of their life: falsetto-ridden vocals, strong lyrics, grinding
guitars, and in-your-face horns have turned many a casual ska listener
into a die-hard fan. On this debut record, the band plays a variety
of musical styles--power pop, anthemic punk rock, and smooth swing....of
course, all peppered with ska. "Fixing Stupid" is engineered by
Dave Probst at The Shed, who's work with MU330, Pale Divine, and
Stillwater have given this album the distinct rock edge that makes
you want to turn the volume to 11. Orangetree's onstage antics are
not to be missed, look for them to rock many small towns and big
cities in 1999.
For Fans of: MU330, Less Than Jake, Mustard
Plug, Buck-O-Nine, Reel Big Fish, Telegraph.
