Orangetree began their musical journey in the spring of 1995, influenced
by the sounds of ska & punk rock. A couple of years later former MU330
frontman Jason Nelson joined the band, leading the troops to their
successfull debut "Fixing Stupid" released on Jump Up! Records in
1999. Time has progressed since their debut, and the band's musical
tastes have changed as did their style, transforming their ska/punk
sound into horn-driven Arena Rock! Orangetree has gone back to the
roots of guitar rock, yet these tracks are still mixed with punk beats
and that high-pitched pop/soul vocal style, with just a hint of ska
riff'ed in for good measure. Over the past year Orangetree has built
a large Midwest fan-base (especialy in St Louis and Chicago) playing
with the likes of Rancid, NOFX, ALL, The Specials, Catch 22, Johnny
Socko, Alkaline Trio, Mustard Plug, The Blue Meanies, Hot Stove Jimmy
and Telegraph, and look to take the country by storm in 2000. When
it comes to hard 80's rock that's still punk as hell, look no further
than Orangetree!
For Fans of: Fishbone, NOFX, Hum, MU330, Less Than Jake, The Hippos,
The Stereo, Telegraph, Green Day, and any fan of 80's Arena Rock.
