Did you pick up one of our Dr Ring Ding Christmas records in the past year and discover for the first time one of today’s top international ska / reggae singers? Or have you been a fan since the 90s? Either way we have great news – we’ve got a limited amount of three recent DR RING DING LP vinyl imports, act fast as these won’t be around long! In 2016 DR RING DING teamed up with the SHARP AXE BAND for the reggae delight “GWAAN”, a high octane rootsy digi-style dancehall affair with rub-a-dub lyrics, it even included a wicked version of JOHNNY CASH’s “Ring of Fire”. Later that same year they unleashed the dub version of the album titled “MARCH FORTH”, in which additional vocal tracks and instruments were recorded and transported into a brand new context by Dr Goldphibles. Lastly (but not leastly!) we picked up some calypso 10″ LPs from the good doctor, originally released in 2013. Includes his fantastic versions of “The Needle” and “Obeah Wedding” plus “All Because I Love You” and “The Cat & The Roster”. Classic calypso sounds never get old! Don’t miss DR RING DING at this year’s SUPERNOVA SKA Festival in Virginia over Memorial Day Weekend!
THE BUSTERS are one of Germany’s most loved ska revival bands, formed in 1987. Playing 2 Tone-influenced ska, they became one of the best-known German ska bands, having a minor hit single with a ska cover of Bobby McFerrin’s “Don’t Worry Be Happy” plus releasing albums on Sony Music Germany. THE BUSTERS even toured the USA at the beginning of the 90’s with releases on MOON SKA NYC. To this day the band tour Germany every Christmas and run their own independent record label, Ska Revolution Records. The Busters have recently released their fourteenth studio album “STRAIGHT AHEAD” – limited edition digipack import CDs now in stock! Dr Ring Ding burst out on the worldwide scene in 1996, releasing what many called THE most significant ska/reggae album of that year entitled “Dandimite”. What made that album so unique and endeared by fans worldwide was simple: Dr Ring Ding had lyrical skills of a true born Jamaican, and the profound knowledge of Jamaican riddims to combine vintage ska/rock-steady music with his new-found appreciation for dancehall. Dandimite’s authenticity was amazing, leading Dr Ring Ding Continue reading DR RING DING – “Diggin’ Up Dirt” CD & LP (OUT OF PRINT) – (JUMP033)
