Back in stock, first shipment sold out in a week! Comprised mainly of Swiss and French jazz musicians with a serious love of ’60s-era Jamaican music, Jah Jazz Orchestra is a superb ensemble that is as equally comfortable playing ska, rocksteady, and reggae as they are jazz. “Introducing” is a fantastic debut, recorded with a warm feel and choc full of Jamaican 60’s ska classics as well as American jazz standards. A must for fans of “laid back” Tokyo Ska Paradise Orchestra vibes, Western Standard Time, NY Ska Jazz Ensemble, or The (Brooklyn) Attractors. Another amazing Jamaican jazz ska classic came out in 2017 from Swedish band WILD MAN RIDDIM, their second album “Worldwide Frequency” “is the result of many spontaneous improvisational moments. The whole album was recorded in the old fashioned way: live, on tape, in 7 hours, and reflects WMR as they further explore the links between ska, jazz and reggae, showing without complexes the bridge they have built that spans from the tradition of the Scandinavian jazz school to the warm passion of ska and reggae. Both these amazing releases on Spanish imprint BRIXTON RECORDS.
